Just last month, New York City’s Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) awarded 15 Green Infrastructure Grants to qualified applicants. That’s $3.8 million for projects that will reduce combined sewer overflows and improve water quality in the New York Harbor.
The first round of the program proved to be competitive, spurring interest in going green, attracting dozens of promising applications, and encouraging real innovation. In short, it’s been a great success, and that’s why DEP has already set aside another $4 million for the second round of grants.
Application information, deadlines, and award dates will be available soon. In the meantime, we want to point out this terrific funding opportunity, and highlight how you can use it help you take your project to the next level. DEP has already added the Green Infrastructure Grant program as a resource on Change by Us NYC. And they have created a project page that you can join to stay up-to-date on all the latest information and to connect with others to develop the next winning project.
